pay per click advertising
Our starting point when planning any Pay Per Click (PPC) campaign is the
Direct Marketing principle of test, learn, evolve, apply, repeat.
The performance of any PPC campaign is directed related to quality and
quantity of the on going testing and applying of findings with high
frequency (often daily, but at a minimum weekly).
While a top ranking in the natural search engine listings can take some
time to achieve, pay per click is a most effective way of bringing immediate
traffic at a surprisingly affordable price. This type of advertising enables
you to choose the keywords for which you would like your site to appear on
search engines when a search is performed.
In pay per click, rankings are calculated for keyword phrases based primarily
on the price that is being paid. You decide how much you are willing to pay each
time a person clicks on the search results. The more you are willing to pay per
click and the more popular your advert, the higher your site will appear in the
results for the keywords you choose. You only pay for people who actually visit
your site, visitors who are actively searching for your product and are therefore
already potential customers.
On the largest Search Engine Google, your bid amount is not the only factor
determining your position however. Your click-through-rate and your cost per click,
together determine the position of your ads on the page. Consequently the text content
of the advert is very important, since a well constructed ad with relevant calls to action
will generate more clicks than a poorly written one.
So in summary to reach self-qualified users it is critical to fine-tune your titles and
descriptions, and select targeted keywords that best fit your business.
